Poems

Here are some of the poems I have written this year:

Found
Once a bright blue sky
Now buried in the snow
Cold, blustering winds
Watching birds soar by

All alone, trapped in diamond ice
Snowflakes tickling its nose
Frozen eyes, lost in memories
Sparkle with missing pride

Day by day, it lies there
At the corner by the muffin shop
Just waiting for hope to come around
And spread some winter cheer

Dreams collapse into weary puddles
Reflecting the sober truth
It isn’t what it seems
His past is just a muddle

At last the savior rises
A hand, a single hand
Slips in and all at once
Life is full of dancing surprises

The mitten looks up at the stars
Then down again
Meeting his match
In the midst of passing cars

Blueberry Bush
Thorns upon thorns, with roses adorn
Lacing the mischievous vines all around
Heavenly sky in the early spring morn
Nothing here but a soft rustling sound

Leaves edged with gold, and stories untold
Lie at the heart of the tangled shrub
Alas sweet tarnished memories it holds
Sunshine streaming in from the above

Berries sprinkled like ornaments on a tree
Painting a palette from red to green
Wind brushing through, wings flying free
Blossoms of joy, what a marvelous scene

And at last, oh at last, the day is done,
Chasing butterflies, spider webs being spun.

Ice Cream Cake
Ice cream cake is fun to make
But it’s even better to eat
You can eat it anywhere, like the lake,
And it’s a delicious frozen treat

It comes in a multitude of flavors
Dancing on my tongue
No matter what, you have to savor
It’s like a thousand tiny hugs

What’s even better is that
It’s a combination of two
Like the cat in the hat, a bat on a mat
It’s cake, and ice cream too!

Yummy, delicious, creamy and more
The adjectives never end
Wonderful, sensational, amazing galore
Ice cream cake is my best friend

Illusions of Nature
Bring me sunset in a cup
And let me drink the paint-soaked rays
Sip the scarlet river through a straw
And bask in a beautiful dream

Bring me dawn in a bowl
Served with ribbons of light
Caressed by tender weeds and spider webs
And a sheet of morning grace

Bring me midnight in a dish
With sprinkles of magic dotting the sky
Glimmers of hope glide across the lake
Connected by a stream of stars

Bring me late afternoon in a basket
Propped on top of the wildflower glade
Seduced by tender traces of honey
Glowing gems like a firefly

Bring me evening in a colored glass
Lit by tissue paper lanterns in a tent
An endless dancing flame
Restless through the oblique night

Cinquains
Chilling,
Iced lemonade.
Swirling beyond this time.
One sip, all is lost forever,
Drip. Drop.

Parachute
No gravity
Soaring on clouds
Free, Airless, beyond reach
Wings

Branches,
Always there to
Leon on, even with crooks,
Bending towards hope and destined faith.
Shoulder

Strawberry
Rosy pink
Sweetness embraces us
Sensational, wonderful, simply enchanting
Delight

Sunset
The golden ripples
Shattering moonlit shadows
Of dancing sparklers

Air Balloon
Eyes full of wonder
Airy painted fairytale
Up up and away

Chasing Dreams
It all starts in a faraway haven beyond the horizon
Shielded with mist, clouded with sparks of magic and flying stars
Hear a song, composed from your wild, dreaming heart
Fluttering wings, with one chance to break free

It’s where the rose thorns claim power, adorned with gems
That glisten in the moonlight, and dance on the lake
Sweet summer glades with crisp wildflowers
They blossom for eternity, watered with timeless laughs

It embraces your spirit, soars beyond snow dotted mountains
Tracing the tainted edge of faded memories
One touch to the water, ever changing eyes
Hope rushes through a meandering path, lost in translation

Yay! The End for now...

Thanks for reading! Hope you enjoyed them!
